Missy is a registered Standardbred mare and arrived at the rescue on June 5, 2005. She was foaled 5/12/2003 in East Bethany, NY and her freeze brand is 9AD242. She was never raced and the former owner, who was getting on in years wanted to make sure she would be safe and not raced. She was one of three donated to the rescue by the same owner at the same time.
On May 8, 2006 Missy was placed in a loving home and underwent some Parelli training. Unfortunately, the economy got the best of her adoptive home and she was returned to the rescue on March 28,2009.
Missy or Miss Space Shuttle(her registered name)is a very pretty girl standing 15.2 hands and weighing 1068 pounds. She is a little dominant in herd at feeding time but loves grooming and being loved on. She is very sound and has quite a few hours under saddle but we feel she will need finishing as her adoptive home was not that experienced. She has the potential to do anything from dressage to trail work. She is totally sound and we would recommend at least an advanced beginner person for her.
