Norman
Norman is not really a horse. He was a bull calf and destined to go to market for veal. He was rescued by Chris Newton, our volunteer coordinator, when he was only four days old. She bought him from the dairy farm where she works for $100 because he was so cute and cute he is.
For the first two weeks he was bottle fed three times a day. After that he learned to drink milk from a pan and then he was slowly weaned off the milk onto a calf grain. He now loves to eat the grass. He is also a steer now. Norman is 25% Jersey and 75% Holstein and loves to run around the yard kicking up his heels.
