H.O.R.S.E. Rescue and Sanctuary
Molly
This very pretty Haflinger cross mare is fifteen years old and came in to the Rescue on August 22, 2004. The Rescue was contacted by the daughter of an elderly man named Rawleigh and told us about Molly. Rawleigh is 88 years young and could no longer bend down far enough to trim her feet and they were so overgrown that she could hardly walk. Chris, Mike and Bonda went out to see her on Sunday, August 15th to evaluate her for intake into the rescue. Bonda saw her and immediately fell in love with her. Molly put her head on Bonda's shoulder four times and Rawleigh said she never did that in the past. Needless to say that Molly will be going home with Bonda just as soon as her feet are done. We have included a few pictures of her and her feet for you to look at.
Esco Comes to the Rescue
The photos below show what Esco had to do to bring Molly back to a more normal position on her feet. This was after the first session and she will need more work but Esco wants x-rays first to see if her cannon bone has changed alignment and if so, how much? Note the special shoe he made to keep her up on her toes.
On September 12, 2004, Molly went home with Bonda who had loved and lost Broadway Biz. Thank you Bonda for giving so much of yourself.
