She took six with her when she relocated to South Carolina. Apparently, she had no use for Sadie or Santana del Paso.
The new farm owner called a friend with another farm and Jennifer took her in and called us.
Sadie was a former broodmare and had been imported from Columbia, South America because of her lines.
She stayed with us for over a year and a half until she was placed with Betsy from Mt. Morris, NY, who wanted a companion for her Paso Fino gelding, Paso.
She was placed on November 10, 2002.
In May of 2006, we got a call from Betsy and she was going to put her Paso down. He was having severe foot problems and was in pain. We had to take Sadie back. We called Randa, who had taken in Dottie, and she was willing to try out Sadie. When Sadie arrived at Randa's, she was put in a box stall until she had some time to settle in. The next day Sadie was let out with the other mares and immediately proceeded to herd the other girls around thereby establishing herself as the lead mare. She is the smallest horse Randa has but she doesn't know that and the other girls are willing to let her be in charge. Sadie seems happy again after losing Paso, her stable mate for nearly five years.
